How normal is normal

Homogeneity is a very scary word...It is in the name of homogeneity that homosexuals, Muslims, Jews, atheists, hard drinking pub trotting women, disabled and the likes have been killed, beaten, discriminated for ages.

We all want to live in a world where everything, everyone around us is 'normal'. Now normal means someone, something that does not challenge the dominant value, it leaves very little space and tolerance for change. Even the abnormal/paranormal have to follow the sickening values of normalcy.

To justify our values of normalcy and the complacent homogeneity we often revert to the animal kingdom..."look how there is no homosexuality in animals, the weak and disabled are eliminated, it is the female of the species who look after the young ones, have you ever seen a black swan in a herd of white ones"

All these statements are highly erroneous because they only look at selective examples within the animal kingdom...but my point is why when we assume to be the most highly developed species, with a brain and logical deduction, do we fall back on the more primitive and basic relationships of the fauna world?

Toady and Noddy

Day 2 of the Engaging training...nothing has changed..I am still busy writing my blog and the rest of the crowd is...well let me just describe in detail what the rest of the crowd is doing.

Toady (he is the lecturer today) is croaking down everyone's throat..I'll end up with huge headache and impaired hearing after this session.

They have rearranged the chairs in the hope of rearranging the interest of the participants..sadly they are mistaken.

Amma is as usual writing down every single word and syllable...she looks like she expects toady to check her notebook.

Damu looks pleased with himself ....with the sound decibel in the room its miracle he can still smile.

There are some smart assess who are working on their laptops..I feel that more than workload its the inherent want to showoff that promotes this behaviour.

Jamesees has again commented on the mike and the noise level in the room...I am very grateful to him for this. The toad thinks we might go to sleep if he stops screeching into the mike...he seriously underestimates the endurance level of ActionAiders.

The panda seems pleased with himself, he probably has a secret explanation for the 'Washington Consensus'.

Jumpy is playing with his mobile, looking confused, getting ready to ask a question, fiddling with his pen, nodding his head...all at once

The guy sitting next to me (again) makes one of his numerous non-sensical comments...I look at him smiling and wondering 'Why, Why, Why"...sadly again no one answers.

Judabs is staring at the presentation like it will help her move her the errant truck. The guy in the flowery shirt has been sitting in attention since morning, I on the other hand have been moving around every 2 min..I'll ruin my spine one day.

Toady puts his hand in his backpocket while lecturing..Is he nervous or does he need the support? He talks about 'pauperization' and productive forces...I think i have reached an all time low in my productive force and pauperization. I just realised toady is a mallu..he [roved it by saying "you unnderrstandd"

I look up from my writing, everyone's laughing, have i missed a joke...these days i am often missing jokes and cues...I have now lost total track of whats going on in the room..I don't think i can get back on track..

The numbness of mind

The following memoir was written during the 5 day staff training that my organisations imposes on its program staff...these are the thoughts that went through my overactive head during the sessions....It will continue!

Some days you wonder what you are doing here...is there a purpose...is the story still unfolding? And some days are like this..when I am seized with a strange feeling called "The numbness of mind"

There goes a hand up..Its that dopey again who can't finish a question and has self made hypothesis for everything. He has asked an inane question once again, the lecturer looks bamboozled with the sheer intelligence of the question and the questioner.

The great white panda has also jumped in , he is having a verbal diarrhea with liberal intersperses of verses like 'matlab', 'largely' and 'hena'. The lecturer is now thoroughly lost and I am writing my blog. The sheer wastefulness of such sessions in my life is up on a huge billboard with neon lights....

Amma is trying to look interested, after all she is an economics student. Jumpy is readying for a jump on the lecturer and puggy is missing her mistress..

The lecturer has regained his composure and is requesting the audience to ask more questions...some people are stupidly brave. God Jameses is going to respond...he just asked the lecturer to hold his mike properly...and i can't stop laughing (in my mind)...he is the only guy who has the guts to show his boredom.

And then there is another kind of crowd who are busy writing every word, every syllable, every vowel...these people were the front benchers in school, who covered their notebooks with brown paper and a plastic cover and always always always did their homework...I was sadly not a part of this distinguished crowd.

Mr. Hotshot RM is not pleased with the lecturer who keeps saying "I'll explain this". Hotshot has been bombarding him with questions no one understands..so we have a catch 20 situation.

There's this idiot who is sitting next to me, he keeps asking weird questions that are supposed to be funny...I wonder 'Why, Why, Why'..no one's answering!

Ah, I've finally found the most intelligent person in this mad lot...he is sleeping. Wise Chap!

If this continues, i'll be found saying"I believe in fairies"

Till the next engaging day of this training...toooodledoo
