Lunacy and Dragons

Khajuraho.... The city of sensuous temple art (that's what our hotel claimed).... And I am stuck in a seminar room with a bunch of journalists who have no clue about Declining Sex ratio and a bunch of activists who are clueless about everything else.

The organiser/ facilitator is lunatic chap who has dedicated his life to wiping out nasty doctors indulging in sex selective abortions. A very commendable passion indeed...still he often reminds me of a horse with blinds on both sides of its face!! The irritating part isn't that though.....Jaipur Regional office has almost nothing to do with this seminar and yet he corners me down to do all his sundry jobs...am sure its written on my face "come hither I need to be kicked around". Anyways am here in the middle of a good informative seminar, working out travel and lodging details with the hotel staff.... I haven't even started on the amount of work waiting for me back in office!

Its been raining in Khajuraho since the last one week...a welcome change in the otherwise dry and scorching Bundelkhand region....its amazing how the grass gets this really soothing shade of green with just one rainfall.... Earthworms and slugs are having a party with those 'after rain die in a night' flies....

Another good thing about this trip is the FOOD...especially the dessert....I've had chocolate brownies, apple strudel, chocolate and pineapple mousse, gulab jamun, fruit pudding, almond pastries.....SINS that my already overextended waistline will have to pay for dearly....

Oh and yes...I did visit the (in)famous temples....they are something else....majestic, intricate and serene...without huge cranes I wonder how they managed? Khajuraho temples have a lot of dragon sculptures....and I thought dragons were Chinese...surprising! Could India- China Trade be the connection...I need to look that up.... The sculptures show women fighting dragons...

All in all ,except for the lunatic chappy...I had a great time.
